Intro to Quote Compare

When you already have quotes and need a quick way to compare bids, Purchaser's tools make evaluation simple. Easily compare quotes by price, delivery, and other key criteria to select the vendor that best meets your needs.

Our quote analysis tools are specifically designed to understand long, complex quotes and proposals that are otherwise difficult to compare side-by-side. This unique capability sets us apart, offering you an unparalleled advantage in efficient bid analysis.


Start a New Compare

Start a new quote compare for each RFQ or project you’re working on.

  • Navigate to Quote Compare in your Purchaser platform.

  • Select New Compare.

  • Drag & Drop files or Browse your files to select one or more quote documents to compare. Though we'll make an effort to generate a comparison on any set of documents, our model is tuned to be particularly effective on things like: Service contracts, Construction proposals, and Raw material quotes.

    You can upload any commonly accepted document file type. Currently, the following types are accepted:

    • Word Documents (doc, docx)

    • PDFs

    • Photos (jpg, png, avif, webp, gif, tiff)

    • Spreadsheets (xlsx, xls, csv)

    • Presentations (ppt, pptx)

    • If you have documents in a different format, contact us.

  • Wait until we’ve processed your documents. This process can take up to 5 minutes depending on the file. If your documents take longer than 5 minutes then just sit tight - we'll get through them. If you do run into any issues with the analysis, contact us for help.

  • Review your quote comparison. Once we've finished reading through your documents and matching up all of the details, you'll see your comparison.


Reviewing Your Quote Comparison

Our quote comparison tools analyze your uploaded documents and consolidate them into a side-by-side comparison of every line item highlighting the best options and potential savings so all your details are in one place.

What’s included in our Quote Compare page:

  • The Comparison tab is where you'll see the report that we generated from your quotes.

  • The Documents tab is where you'll find the original documents that you uploaded.

  • The Add More button allows you to upload an additional document for us to add to the comparison. When you add a new document, we regenerate the comparison from scratch so expect it to take another 3-5 minutes to generate.

  • The Export menu allows you to download a copy of your comparison as an Excel spreadsheet so that you can further adjust it.

Quote Compare in Your RFQs

Our quote compare tools are available in any RFQs you create on our platform. When a vendor responds to an RFQ you send out through our platform with a quote, we automatically analyze that quote and create a quote comparison for you so that you can easily review and select the bid that matches your needs.

To view your quote comparison on your RFQ:

  1. Navigate to your RFQs.

  2. Select an RFQ that a vendor has responded with a quote.

  3. Select the Quotes tab.

  4. Select the Comparison tool.

  5. As quotes come in, we’ll update this comparison area with the information about your bids.

If you’ve received a quote from a vendor for an RFQ, but it has not appeared automatically then you can forward your email with the quote to the specific Purchaser email we have designated for that RFQ. To learn more about forwarding emails, visit our Manage Your RFQs guide.
